Follow the Threads – Weaving Creativity into Your Life

October 6, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm MDT

$25

If you wish for a safe space to help you understand what you are experiencing in your journey to becoming a professional artist, and to be able to move closer to this dream, join us at Follow the Threads Gallery for this event. The event will be a fusion of the skills between two Taos residents, JoAnne Dodgson, healer, and Marci Lebowitz, fashion artist, stylist, and gallery owner.

Marci provides a roadmap that can help you understand where you are in your journey to becoming a professional artist. JoAnne offers the Throwing of the Bones (an ancient healing ceremony of the Ka Ta See, a lineage from Peru) to help you sift through and clear the beliefs that have blocked you from pursuing this dream. This process helps clarify who you are and unearth who you can be.

There are four phases we go through to become professional artists. Most of us do not understand the phases/which one we are in, and expect ourselves to be in a more advanced phase so we cannot enjoy where we are presently. We can get trapped by the voices inside our heads and the people around us saying things that hold us back & prevent us from moving forward. We often feel as though we lack the skills (creative and/or business) necessary to truly allow us to flourish as artists.

The ceremony addresses the myriad of feelings you may be having about being creative and assists in moving forward on this voyage. This event is inclusive of all art forms ~ visual, music, dance, words, textiles, food, etc.
